New Consortium Project "TIMO" (Thermal Interface Materials - Surface Effects) launching in autumn

Through engaging discussions with experienced project partners, we have finalized the plans for our upcoming consortium project, "TIMO" (Thermal Interface Materials - Surface Effects). It is set to commence in the autumn! The project aims to explore the interaction between thermal interface materials (TIMs) and their adjacent surfaces in greater detail. Together, we will conduct systematic measurement series and simulation calculations to gain a deeper understanding of these materials and their properties. The project also provides an excellent opportunity for partners to establish valuable connections.

If you are interested in participating and would like further information, please feel free to reach out to us!

For those who are interested, we still have the following module available as part of our  ZFW Academy '23 in June (All modules are also available in English upon request!):

Module 12 - Temperature Measurement, June 28, 2023, 08:15 - 11:30 AM (online)
Learn about temperature measurement using thermocouples, resistance thermometers, and thermal cameras. Gain insights into typical measurement errors in practice, such as improper sensor attachment and heat dissipation issues. Additionally, discover the application of these techniques in the field of electronics through practical examples. Expand your knowledge in this area!

Before the summer break in July, we will be offering training in the following areas:

Module 13 - Heat Exchangers: Design and Sizing, July 12, 2023, 08:15 - 11:30 AM (online)
This module covers the fundamentals of heat exchanger design and sizing, with a focus on fluid-to-fluid heat exchangers. You will learn about different construction types, their applications, as well as key advantages and disadvantages.

Module 14 - Introduction to Heat and Flow Simulation (FloEFD), July 19, 2023, 08:15 - 11:30 AM (online)
Using simple and easily understandable examples, this module showcases the possibilities and limitations of simulation. Participants will gain the ability to perform and evaluate simple simulations using Siemens' "Simcenter FloEFD" simulation software, as well as understand how simulations can be integrated into the development process.
