About us
The Zentrum fuer Waermemanagement Stuttgart (ZFW) is an institute that is specialized on the thermal management of electronic systems. As a university-related institution, we belong to the Steinbeis Group, but are financially independent. We also have close ties to the faculty of Technology of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) in Stuttgart.
ZFW was founded in 2002 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. A. Griesinger. Today ZFW has 12 employees and is growing rapidly. Our team embodies many years of professional experience, working for well-known companies such as Henkel or Robert Bosch GmbH.
Our financing is exclusively being provided through service, development and research projects that are paid by industry or other research institutions. The technology drivers for us today are electromobility (battery management), autonomous driving (thermal optimization of driver assistance systems) and LED technology. Every year we work on more than 100 projects on the subject of thermal management and service life in electronics. Our simulation experts work in close consultation with both, customers and among each other.
Our aim is to pass on our scientific know-how combined with our many years of practical experience to our customers.

Melanie Litzkow
Administration, organization, management
Melanie Litzkow manages the ZFW. She organizes our events (seminars, training courses, conferences, etc.), takes care of invoicing and any other administrative matters and is responsible for customer care.

Robert Liebchen
Technical sales, quality management
Robert Liebchen is in charge of technology and quality management. He is responsible for the project planning of special thermal machines, for the construction of the TIM tester, for the measurement technology area, quality control and measurement system analyzes.

Peter Fink
Measurement technology, simulation, system optimization
Peter Fink has decades of experience in the areas of measurement technology and simulation of thermal systems. He is an expert in the field of thermal transient analysis. In addition to training courses and seminars, he oversees many thermal management projects.

Nikica Jurcevic
Simulation, special structures
Nikica Jurcevic develops cooling concepts and optimizes systems with regard to thermodynamical and fluid mechanical factors using FEM and CFD simulations. Furthermore, he plans and constructs systems for special technical measurement applications.

Steffen Bedenik
Measurement technology, test bench development
Steffen Bedenik develops, optimizes and operates our measurement equipment, especially TIM tester, MPT and TGA. In addition, he is involved in the development of new test stands, examples to be mentioned are a pressure loss test stand and our new vibration tester (VT).

Felix Baumeister
Measurement technology, special solutions
Felix Baumeister operates and develops our measuring systems. His main field of activity is TIM testers, TGA, as well as investigations into dielectric strength and the 3-omega method. In addition, he realizes special solutions for measuring various thermal and electrical parameters.

Oliver Roser
Research projects, measurement technology, simulation
Oliver Roser is a specialist in the field of heat transfer and thermodynamics with experience in measurement technology and simulation. His current specialty is the numerical modeling of the mixed thermal conductivity of composite materials. He is also involved in the development of special test benches.

Hubert Gubick
Head of heat laboratories
Due to his many years of experience, Hubert Gubick is an expert in measurement technology and head of the heat laboratory. In addition to the laser flash analysis (LFA) and the DSC, the test bench construction of our TIM testers, MPT systems and other individual special solutions are in his field of activity.
